Listen to “Taxes” by Geese

There’s this band from New York called Geese. They just released a new album called Getting Killed. Overnight, it has turned them from “a promising young indie band” into “The Voice of a Generation.”
And. I. Get. It.
It’s ironic how an album called Getting Killed can make you feel so alive.
Please listen to their phenomenal new song, “Taxes” ➝
The last time a song hit me like this was on May 15, 2007. It was the the day Wilco released Sky Blue Sky and the first time I heard “Impossible Germany”. Similarly, “Taxes” is also a piece of magic. An anti-gravity spell. An exhale you didn’t know you were holding. A transcendent transfiguration. The song. The album. The band. The whole thing.
As they say, the only two certainties in life are Getting Killed and “Taxes”.
